Something as fragile as a wing can carry a life an extraordinary distance.
This painting holds that relationship between tenderness and grit… the effort of moving through the world while allowing it to still reach us.
Letting people matter.
Feeling the weight of disappointment.
Being caught off guard by beauty, even with something heavy on our minds. Giving ourselves permission to be changed by an experience before we fully understand it.
There is grit in continuing to care when caring has cost us something… In making another attempt with the memory of the last one still close. In getting up the next morning, carrying what hurts, and finding ourselves able to notice something amazing along the way.
To stay soft takes its own kind of resolve. It means making room for feeling in a life that keeps asking us to function. Allowing joy to reach places grief has touched, and letting ourselves be moved by things we cannot keep.
All This Way honors the distance we travel with that still intact… the effort, tenderness, the uncertainty, and everything we remain willing to love.
All this way… and still able to be moved.
